Seven card stud can be played with a maximum of 8 players and a minimum
of 2 players. This game is usually played as a limit game with everyone
starting off by putting a set ante in the pot at the beginning of each hand.
You use a standard fifty-two card deck, after the deck is shuffled the
dealer will deal 2 hole cards to each player and one up card to each player.
a round of betting ensues with the player showing the lowest up card starting
with the bring in (usually a specified minimum of 25% of the 1st rounds
bet) or completing the bet. each player moving in a clockwise order can
decide to call the initial bring in or raise to a full bet or
raise another full bet, if the initial bet has already been completed, or fold.
Normally as in Limit Hold'em there is only 3 reraises possible per round. This
streets betting is at the lower limit (e.g. in a $3/$6 game the bet would be
$3), and again there is a maximum of 3 raises.
The dealer then deals another card face up to each player called 4th
street. On this and all following streets the betting starts with the
player showing the highest board. If 2 players are tied the betting usually
begins from the player closest to the dealer button. This streets betting is
at the lower limit (e.g. in a $3/$6 game the bet would be $3), and again there
is a maximum of 3 raises.
The dealer then deals another card face up to each player called 5th street.
. This streets betting is at the higher limit (e.g. in a $3/$6 game the bet
would be $6), and again there is a maximum of 3 raises.
